Meganekko Katana

Meganekko (メガネ, también escrito como めがね y 眼鏡,芽金 que significan lo mismo) megane de gafas y 娘 ko de chica) es un término del argot japonés que se puede ser traducido como "Chica con gafas". Es también un término utilizado por fanáticos del manga y anime para referirse a los personajes femeninos que llevan gafas, especialmente cuando es considerado su rasgo más atractivo. Su uso puede que tenga o no que algo que ver con la vista del personaje, y comúnmente llevan ropa "neutral" a diferencia de otros fetiches más obvios como el de las meido o los seifuku, aunque frecuentemente los personajes meganekko llevan el pelo de manera similar, de forma ondulada en los extremos o lo que se conoce como el estilo pageboy. En ocasiones poseen connotaciones de geek, nerd u otaku, comúnmente para hacer al personaje acorde a su estilo y visto desde una forma positiva.

Meganekko (メガネっ娘?) (メガネ, also めがね or 眼鏡, pronounced megane ("glasses") and 娘 ko for "girl" but using the kanji for daughter) is a Japanese word which translates to "glasses(-wearing) girl". It is used in its most straight-forward way to describe people (female) where wearing glasses can be considered one of their characteristics. It is also often used in anime and manga fandom to refer to females who wear glasses, especially when it is considered their most attractive trait. However, it does not automatically mean that the female would not be considered attractive without the glasses. Their usage may or may not have anything to do with a character's eyesight, and they are often a "neutral" costume not as closely associated with more obvious fetishes such as meido (maid) or seifuku (school uniform), though they are very often depicted with a pageboy haircut. They sometimes have the connotations of geekish or bookish behavior, but in a complimentary fashion. An stereotypical example would be Miyuki Takara from the anime Lucky Star.
